About Me
I’m Zyen – a writer and high school Physics teacher from Malaysia.
I have always loved writing, but I did not explore that creative side of me for more than 20 years after I graduated from university. Life got in the way, and I found myself focusing on other paths — searching, exploring, and eventually realising that teaching is my true calling.
My passion for writing was reignited when I joined a short story competition for the first time, and was shortlisted in the top 10. It was a true honour because it was an international competition that drew almost 1000 entries!
Before this, I was deeply involved in competitive dance, focusing on Latin Solo, where I consistently attained champion or was ranked the top 3 in my age category. I have since stepped away from competing to focus on other pursuits.
And in what little free time I have, I am writing, working on my doctorate, or at least try to remember to water my plants.
